Persian Sunday Gettogether
For me this Sunday was back to back parties with lots of food. Especially that it was a rainy, gloomy and cold day so being inside was way to go ... I had more fun inside, with eating. I am sharing with you pictures of some of the dishes I had on Sunday.
Persian food table isn't complete with fresh green vegetables (i.e parsley, cilantro, green onion and mint). The basket of vegetables is coloured with red radish!
This rice (polo in Persian) is with vicia faba (Baghali in Persian) and dill. Baghali polo (the rice in the photo) is usually served with lamb shanks (Mahiche in Persian). It is a must try!
The white rice (polo) is served with this stew! Mix of eggplants, tomatoes and chicken.
Here is a complete photo of the table in one of the parties I went on this Sunday!
It was absolutely delicious! How did you spend your Sunday? How was the weather?

Of course, there is salad with homemade dressing! I will write a post on the homemade dressing one day! It is absolutely amazing!
Persian lunch parties are usually served with rice and stew. Rice is usually dressed with Saffron (very expensive spice from flower of Cocus sativus)! and Tahdig (hard rice, potatoes or bread at the bottom of the pot in which the rice is cooked)This rice (polo in Persian) is with vicia faba (Baghali in Persian) and dill.
